Shortly before 2pm, Houston police got a call of criminal mischief in progress at the George Bush monument on Bagby at Preston in downtown Houston. Witnesses say a man who appeared to be homeless was using paint to vandalize the monument.
The man was described as having long blond hair, possibly in a ponytail, and wearing a plaid shirt. He may still have some yellow paint on him.
Or just a regular democratic hippie type.

Some boos could be heard in the crowd gathered on the mall when Vice President Dick Cheney and Mr. Bush were introduced for Mr. Obama’s swearing-in.
And when it was over, a chant of “na na na na, hey hey, goodbye” arose from some among the throng on the Mall as Mr. Bush’s helicopter flew by carrying him to Andrews Air Force Base and on to his retirement in Texas.
Love him or hate him, this kind of activity is beneath us, and should not be tolerated or condoned by anyone.

I can't say it surprises me at all.
I anticipate with something approaching hand-rubbing glee the impending disillusionment of the radical left, when they finally understand that this guy is just another establishment Ivy League mouthpiece. Most blacks who met him on the street would instantly decide he was an Uncle Tom, but the media have sold him as Dredd Scott, Martin Luther King, and Booker T. Washington all wrapped in pretty socialist bundle. The reality, of course, is that he's a typical, self-serving, Chicago politi-thug who craves power the way a shark craves meat.
His presidency will likely be unremarkable and filled with non-accomplishments just as Clinton's was. Which, admittedly, is the best possible outcome we can hope for at this point.
