Border guards to be freed
Good job:
Then he should've armed himself. We need to be encouraging this sort of behavior rather than punishing it.
President George W. Bush has commuted the prison sentences of two former Border Patrol guards whose convictions for shooting a Mexican drug dealer ignited debate about illegal immigration.
Bush's act of clemency on Monday for Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean was a victory for Democratic and Republican members of Congress and others who pleaded with the president to pardon the men or at least commute their sentences.
Ramos and Compean are each serving sentences of more than 10 years for shooting an unarmed illegal immigrant...
Then he should've armed himself. We need to be encouraging this sort of behavior rather than punishing it.

About damn time! I personally have sent over 30 faxes and letters to President Bush requesting such.
Hey maybe writing your politicians does work! Yeah ok.....
I think the thing that pissed me off the most about this case is that the U.S. took the word of an illegal drug smuggler. He said he had no gun, but he had 800 lbs of dope in his van. Based off of the amounts of drugs I had seized as an officer, I can tell you, if they have more than a pound, they got a gun. It is just good business practice. If not, they could and would be robbed by other dope dealers.
