Smoke Break
A really good smoke break:
Sounds to me like she was making a point. Good for her.
This is one of the social points whereupon I swing to the left. You want to free up enormous amounts of police and court resources? Legalize marijuana. Consumption of marijuana as a "crime" is the dumbest idea since Prohibition -- and just as ineffective. Adults can kill brain cells with alcohol and it's fine-n-dandy, but if they do it with weed, they're a criminal. Stupid.
I've witnessed many people who become violent and destructive upon consuming alcohol. The only threat from somebody puffed up on MJ is to the snack aisle at the grocery store.
And for the record, I haven't smoked it in years -- far more than any statute of limitations, I might add. Scotch is my poison of choice. It's just a matter of principle.

A prospective juror in a marijuana possession trial was hauled off to jail Tuesday after police said they caught her smoking a joint outside the courthouse.

Lets face it, legalizing marijuana is about lost tax revenues and nothing else. The government and probably even the alcohol producers and distributors do not want something that grows like a weed, that people can grow in their own suburban backyard to be the brain cell killer of choice by the masses since taxing human entertainment and even "vices" is something they make a tremendous amount of money on, and of course the alcohol vendors don’t want the competition. With all the micro breweries around you might ask what the difference is, and my theory there is that most of the people doing a little brewing at the house are still using store bought and taxed components unlike the days of prohibition when America was still mostly agrarian and those illegal breweries were out on the farm along with where the components were being grown. Either way, the government along with the alcohol lobby does not want the lost revenues. I can also say that I have no desire to support the use of marijuana as I have never even had it in my hand, much less smoked it (and no, that's not tongue in cheek like Bill Clinton's load of "didn't enhale crap), but I can tell an inconsistency when I see it, and all it ever takes to get an understanding of such things is to follow the money.
