I'll simply refer to Einstein's response when Bohr started into his nonsense about observational determinism: "Do you really think the moon is not there if you aren't looking at it?"

Considering we have never actually observed dark matter I think it's a moot point. That being said, this is another example of arrogance of mankind's effects on the world or universe. We may one day reach a point where we have the ability to effect the universe but we only slightly effect the planet we're on much less things out in space.
