Don't Touch Me!

You're not it:

An elementary school has banned tag on its playground after some children complained they were harassed or chased against their will.

"It causes a lot of conflict on the playground," said Cindy Fesgen, assistant principal of the Discovery Canyon Campus school.

Running games are still allowed as long as students don't chase each other, she said.

I should start a private school and run it the way schools were run in the '60s and '70s. I could call it the Notapussy Charter School. Our motto: "Send your whiny, pampered little snotling elsewhere. We'll hurt him."

Exactly when did conflict become a bad thing? Handling conflict is a major factor resolving problems. Conflict is a part of everyday life. Attempting to prevent children from experiencing any conflict will only keep them from learning how to deal with it when they encounter it in the real world. Instead, they will attempt to avoid conflict at all costs instead of standing up for themselves when someone tries to take advantage of them. People who can't handle conflict constructively become dysfunctional "victims" of their surroundings instead of being empowered to resolve their own problems.

I'll definitely be sending any offspring of mine to the Notapussy Charter School.
