Turbine Tribulations

Tragedy at El Paso International Airport:

Continental Airlines Flight 1515 was preparing to take off...when "a maintenance-related engine run-up of the right-hand engine" was carried out, said Roland Herwig, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration.

"Someone on the ground was sucked into the engine," he said.

That just plane sucks.

(Yeah, hiss all you want... like you weren't thinking the same thing. Buncha sick bastards.)

In even more astounding news, El Paso has an international airport, though I've no idea what their connections might be. Mexico doesn't count, since most of the travelers are one-way and on foot.

(Hat-tip to Pete K.)
