Walk the Walk

Fresh from the Really Bad Idea file:

Finnish scientists have invented a device to make it harder to steal mobile phones and laptops by enabling them to detect changes in their owner's walking style and then freeze to prevent unauthorized use.

Boots. Tennis shoes. High-heels. Flip-flops. Slick pavement. Hot pavement. Icy pavement. Nice, cool day. Sticky, hot day. Snowstorm. Running from mugger while trying to call the police.
