Numismatic Nonsense

The federal government has come up with yet another way to get into your pocket--this time by putting something into it, in the form of (yet another) new dollar coin. The idea is that people will "horde" them. Well, they won't get it from me; the only thing that makes a coin collectible is its relative rarity.

On the positive side, at least they're honoring Presidents this time around, instead of engraving the coins with the image of some rabble-rousing strumpet or an unknown Indian squaw.
