General Malaise Corporation

General Motors has once again posted record losses. Not to pick on GM too much, as Ford is in the same boat, and Chrysler is only nominally solvent due to their association with the Benz Corporation.

That's what happens when you let yourself, as a collective entity, be extorted by greedy union leaders and business agents. When you end up paying double-digit I.Q. mouth-breathers $35/hour to perform robot-level labor. When you have so little money left over for actually building the cars, that you have to create short-ranged planned obsolescence in new automobiles, so you can make your money back in parts scams.

Sorry, GM; I have no sympathy at all for you. I traded in the last pile of junk I'll ever buy from you last year.

Oh, eventually the American motorcar manufacturers will collapse under the weight of the excessive union overburden, and a brand new crop of non-UAW companies will begin manufacturing quality American-made automobiles again. And I look forward to that day. But until then, the Japanese and Europeans will continue to get my money. That's because their products don't fall apart around me.
