If I were to make this stuff up and try to sell it as the plot of a novel, the screening editor would just laugh as he dropped the manuscript in his "return to sender" outbox. Or the shredder.

I'd make a SanFran tag (or 'Frisco, whichever nickname pisses them off more), but there's really no need, is there? The Bay Area's childish tantrums of leftism have become the laughing stock of the entire nation. Just speak the name of the city aloud and people immediately sneer in contempt. Pointing it out with a tag would lack subtlety -- much like the communists running the city into the ground.
