Mythbusting Agincourt

Field tests with period weapons and armor to see if the longbow really won Agincourt for the English as legend has it.  The archer shoots a 160-lb bow. Makes my back ache just watching him.

I picked up a nice 60# recurve on Amazon last year. At 51 years old, that's about the heaviest draw weight I'm comfortable with. Any respectable longbow goes 100+. That'd send me to a chiropractor in short order.

About the only thing I could do with one now is hang it on the wall. Recurves are good. They are the best looking bows out there in my opinion.

The arrows they were using were impressive though.
