Whining
I swear leftists go around looking for something to whine about. They've recently "discovered" that the US Coast Guard keeps captured drug runners in their ships' brigs until the paperwork can be processed to extradite them for trial. As it is a US military vessel in international waters, they are not subject to US criminal law while aboard. The lefties, having predictably misunderstood the reasons, are throwing (yet another) hissy fit over it, referring to them as "floating Guantanamos" -- as if that were a bad thing.
This is standard naval practice and goes back centuries. When the navy captures pirates and other criminals on the high seas, they remain on the high seas until formally charged under the laws of a nation and then extradited. This can take time... because it's a fucking ship at sea. In case you ignorant hippies haven't noticed, the sea is rather a large place, and the ships have other things to do than spend every minute of every day ferrying two-for-a-buck criminals to shore.
You can always depend on a leftoid to completely misunderstand a thing and then overreact to it.
Now, if they want to talk about bringing back prison barges, by all means let's have a discussion. Because I'm all for it. Poorhouses, too.
