ALIAS

Demonstration video of DARPA ALIAS (Aircrew Labor In-cockpit Automation System) installed in a Sikorsky helicopter. The system can be linked with any aircraft so it can be flown with an iPad or other tablet. You just tell the aircraft what you want it to do and where you want to go and it takes care of the rest. In essence, it's the ultimate evolution of the autopilot, requiring no training or specialized skills to fly an aircraft. I think it takes all the fun out of flying, but I've no doubt this is the future of commercial and civil aviation, for better or worse.
