Fire!
First mistake was naming your kid "Scout." You may as well have branded a big 'L' on his forehead at birth.
Of course it was. Millennials can't walk into a room without recording it and posting it on the internet. They all seem to be suffering from the delusion that the rest of us give a damn what they're doing. Can't really blame them, since their parents and the schools have been teaching them from before they could walk that they're all special and unique snowflakes. Now they're (nominal) adults and actually think it's true. It's a sad state of affairs for our society as a whole, but it certainly simplifies things for the police.
A man is charged with arson after he set fire to a rug in an apartment Thursday to make a political statement and prove he wasn't a "loser."
Austin Fire crews responded to a call at the Whisper Hollow Apartments at 3300 Parker Lane on January 14th at around 7:30 p.m. after a request from the Austin Police Department, who had received a call for a disturbance between a mother and her son. The report says police arrived at the apartment, the officer heard a voice from inside the apartment yell "He won't let me answer the door!" and "He won't let me go!" Officers then forced entry into the apartment.
Police found evidence of a small fire inside the apartment and detained Scout Anthony Thomas Hodge, 20, while waiting for the fire crews.

Hodge told investigators he was in his room and began to get in a bad mood because of a program he was watching about politics. Hodge said he then burned a Syria hat with a lighter and placed it on the rug, all of which was recorded on Instagram.
