Circus

Ever wonder how the Billboard Hot 100 and Top 40 came to be? Nah, me neither. I just always assumed it had formed as a single malignant mass out of the muck of American pop culture. Turns out, Billboard was originally a newspaper for traveling circuses.

Now it all makes sense.
