Ow! Don't touch me!

California governor Jerry Brown continues the pussification of what passes for males in that sorry State. If it weren't for Camp Pendleton, there'd be no testosterone left anywhere in it.

Texas went even more wuss like by restricting it to only one 90 minute full contact a week. Here is a crazy idea, instead of passing laws, how about teaching proper tackling techniques. The issue is that ESPN and all these sport highlight shows have made big hits, well, big hits. So, instead of trying to tackle and bring down the runner, kids, college, and pros launch themselves at the runner in hopes of knocking them down. You see way to many "tackles" being made with arms to the side leading with the head or shoulders, instead of trying to wrap up and actually tackle the guy.

The easy solution would be to create a 5 yard penalty for improper tackling. If your arms aren't out trying to wrap the runner up, 5 yards. What this would do is get those stupid backyard "coaches" who teach just "HIT EM HARD" out of the sport and kids would learn to get their heads up and bring down the runner. Look at rugby. Most of those guys don't have helmets yet they manage to bring down the runner.

What's going to happen is if we keep letting politicians dictate our sports, before long we will have all sports looking like.....Soccer.

I assure you the high schools are playing full contact scrimmages in summer camp and weekly practice. The difference between California and Texas is that in Texas we ignore the politicians and bureaucrats and just do what needs to be done. This is true in business as well, which is why our economy doesn't suck.
