Hiding the URL

Google's latest version of Chrome hides the URL from users. I suppose it was an inevitable development; the "normalization" of a technology which I watched spring from the ether. After all, while millions of people drive automobiles every day, how many of them do you think could accurately point out the throttle body or the master cylinder?
