Death ray... deployed!

This summer the USS Ponce (LPD-15) will be retrofitted with a laser turret. It is rated at 30 kilowatts and is intended as defense against drones, missiles, and small boats. The price per shot? About two bucks worth of electricity. Hell, you can't buy .30-06 ammo for that nowadays.
