Enterprising Idea
Las Vegas came this close to having a full-size U.S.S. Enterprise (the starship, not the carrier) built in the downtown area. Being the nerd that I am, I'd pay through the nose for the chance to spend a few nights in Spock's quarters, dine in the mess hall, and poke at big red buttons in Engineering.
Unfortunately, they decided on "The Fremont Experience" instead. Which, if you've ever been to Fremont street, is somewhat underwhelming -- especially when set next to the idea of a 400m-long "spaceship."

Wow, pretty lights, I can go see that... anywhere on the strip. It is a five minute deal that would keep you in downtown for all of the time it took you to pass by as you drove to your hotel room on the strip. As usual, people underestimate the number and dedication of trekkies.
At least the Las Vegas Experience is covered to protect you from the constant tropical rains.
