Star Pimp Jack Horkheimer, Dead at 72

I know several of us here remember this odd little mini-show The Star Hustler (later renamed to The Star Gazer) that came on after...I think it might have been Dr. Who on Saturday nights back in the late 80's. As much as we made fun of the cheesy Radio Shack special effects, Jack's WayTooEnthusiastic manner, bad toupee (sorry, that COULDN'T have been his real hair), and PsychoStalker gaze he was a fixture of our youth. And when you strip away the the layers of cheese it was actually a decent show.

The Star Hustler died Friday August 20th. Full story here

"Keep Looking Up!"

I remember that show. Came on at midnight, right before PBS rolled up the sidewalks for Sunday morning. Had a piece from Tomita's "Snowflakes are Dancing" as the theme song.

He was certainly an unusual little dude -- though pretty much exactly the image most people conjure when they hear the word "astronomer."
