Jacqueline Moore told deputies she does not smoke marijuana. She is not a "druggie," according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report.

So why, a deputy asked, did she have a 2-foot-tall marijuana plant sitting on the curb outside her house?

Moore, 55, said a neighbor had given her the leafy green plant a few months ago when it was a "baby plant," according to the report.

But it had grown too big lately, and she said, she did not want to get in trouble for growing it, so she uprooted it and put it out with the trash.

When a deputy came to Blayton Drive on Tuesday afternoon to investigate a battery complaint, he noticed the plant and asked Moore about it.

Moore said she was only growing the plant because it was "cute."

The deputy arrested Moore, of 3342 Blayton Drive. She faces a charge of cultivation of marijuana. She is being held at Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.

Great job, officer! You stopped that societal menace cold in her tracks, you did! Bravely done, I say. Maybe you can take her back to the squad house and make her watch Reefer Madness until her eyes bleed.
