It's the Muslim & Baptist GALA SPECTACULAR!

Today I received this invitation from a contractor with whom we do a lot of work. The owners and employees are mostly Muslim Turks. They're actually a pretty good GC -- a rarity in the modern commercial construction market.

I’m... well, I’m nearly speechless. Those damned Baptist extremists! Buncha rabble-rousers, I tell ya!

I’m a very open-minded individual in many areas of life. For example, the wife and I recently went to the Houston gay/les Mardi Gras ball with some friends. It was a unique and entertaining experience. But I think I’m gonna have to draw the line at the Muslim & Baptist Gala Ball.

If they really want to create a Big Event, try a Muslim & Jew Gala Ball. Weapons check at the door, please.

(In all seriousness, at least they're in the same room and talking instead of blowing people up. That's a good step in the direction of secularism and sanity. Unfortunately, I'm afraid such intercourse will remain forever confined to people of good sense -- which leaves politicians and demagogues out of the mix entirely.)
