Can-Am Spyder

I'm not quite sure what to make of this thing. It's certainly unique, and the looks kinda grow on you after you peer at it for a bit, but it's not a motorcycle; it's a fixed-horizontal vehicle like an automobile. In the touring model (pictured below) that shouldn't present much of a problem. In fact, it appears as though it would make for a very comfortable touring ride. The sport version, however, is another matter.

Since you can't change the vehicle's angle relative to the perceived centrifugal force of a turn, ("lean into it"), the design creates problems for cornering. If the inside front wheel were to leave the pavement in a high-speed turn, it could rapidly escalate into a something like a high-side crash -- though obviously from different causes. However, when you're laying in a ditch with broken bones (or among the recently deceased) the difference in the physics won't matter much to you.

Piclick for more info.
