Welcome to the NEW party

There have been rumors about Obama belonging to the "New" party in 1996. The NEW party was started by the Democratic Socialists of America and was a socialist organization created to elect socialist candidates to office. Their membership was increasing until 1999 when a supreme court ruling deemed their platform unconstitutional. All evidence that Obama had been one has been scrubbed from the NEW party web site, but some of it was archived and has been found. Now due to the layout of the document I cannot attest to its veracity, but I thought it needed to be linked to, as soon as I find more proof, I will put it here.

October 1996 Update :
Running to Win : The Key Races

New Party members are busy knocking on doors, hammering down lawn signs, and phoning voters to support NP candidates this fall. Here are some of our key races:

Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary).

There was this

opinion article as well:

New Party members and supported candidates won 16 of 23 races, including an at-large race for the Little Rock, Ark., City Council, a seat on the county board for Little Rock and the school board for Prince George's County, Md. Chicago is sending the first New Party member to Congress, as Danny Davis, who ran as a Democrat, won an overwhelming 85% victory. New Party member Barack Obama was uncontested for a State Senate seat from Chicago.

As you can see the link on the bottom of the page takes you to the Progressive web site and the artcle was written in 1996.
You be the judge if he belonged to the NEW party or not.

If he wasn't, he may as well have been. The man's a plain ol' run-of-the-mill pinko. McCarthy would've had him hanged... and that would have been good.

It's one thing to express your political principles, it's another altogether to attempt to undermine the principles of the Constitution. His links with Bill Ayers show very clearly that Obama is a fifth columnist and a radical leftist. We're in for four years of real misery if that commie gets into the White House. And we just may be in for another civil war, since the educational establishment has done such a thorough job of helping the populace to forget the real reasons the first one was fought.
