And the Libs complain about the Patriot act

Sweden passes law allowing them to easdrop on ANY phone or text conversation

Sweden's controversial new surveillance law has put the state on a collision course with innovative new businesses, argues Roger Grönberg, CEO of Momail. For young companies reliant on the internet, the new law allowing the state to eavesdrop on all email and telephone traffic passing in and out of the country will hamper their growth and could go as far as to threaten their very existence.

I posted this for two reasons. One was to show how we as a Nation still respect the privacy of our citizens and visitors, but I do believe that if you are a suspect in a crime or a plot to commit a crime, Tap away, because in my opinion to think that the government is trying to listen to EVERY phone conversation and has the ability to do so is right up there with the black helocopter and tin foil hat crowd.
The second reason was to point out that Europe, which the Left would like us to emulate, is closer to a Big Brother state than we will ever be. Monitoring all phone traffic, criminalizing speech, and did you know it it illegal to give some one the bird on the autobahn? What the hell is that all about? I like many cannot stand to hear the rhetoric of Barbara Boxer or Al Goracle, or even the pinhead on the corner with his sign, but speech is protected and as it should be. The criminalizing of speech, no matter how vile or stupid, is a step towards totalinarism.
