Foxit

Adobe Acrobat is quite possibly the most ungainly, poorly-coded, snail-slow turd of a document reader in the history of such programs. If that didn't get the point across, allow me to simplify:

ADOBE ACROBAT SUCKS FLAMING DONKEY DICKS

In my current job, I have to view and print large quantities of quite large PDF files. After spending untold hours waiting on Adobe Acrobat to load construction drawings and print them, I'd finally had enough. A quick Google search revealed something I'd long suspected: that I am far from alone in being frustrated to the edge of bloody-handed murder by Adobe's disgusting bloatware. Fortunately, an alternative immediately presented itself: Foxit Reader.

This small, simple little program does everything any average user of PDF files would ever need. You can view, annotate and print. And you can do it all in (quite literally) an order of magnitude less time than you can with Acrocrap. My life just became a little bit less stressful, and that's absolutely priceless. Fortunately, so is Foxit at the great price of $0.00.

Get it here today... and feel the blood pressure drop.

I feel you were not very clear in your statement. I am still unsure as to how you feel about Adobe. Can you please clarify it for me?

After 8 years of working with a software packaging and distribution application, I can also vouch for the fact that Adobe has absolutely the worst installation routines in the industry. Even Mickey$oft comes a distant second to the convoluted and ridiculous restrictions and problems present with installing and removing their software. Good luck getting Adobe off your machine now that you have a replacement.. the only way to be 100% sure is to format. ;-)

Great. So I pretty much have to nuke it from orbit. Somebody raise Cpl Hicks on TAC1, please.
