Bullet Counters

I thought some of the posters here would appreciate this article by Thomas Sowell.

"Killing an Unarmed Man." That is how the front-page headline in the New York Times characterized an incident in which a man tried to run over a policeman with his car and was shot by three policemen on the scene, including his intended victim.

An automobile is a deadly weapon. If you are killed by an automobile, you are just as dead as if you had been shot through the heart.

If the Old Grey Whore publishes a news article proclaiming the sky to be blue, I'll walk outside and check rather than believe them out of hand.

Journalistic integrity is a foreign concept at the Times. Over the last twenty years, their editorial staff have morphed into the very worst of a bad lot of yellow leftist cheerleaders. I have more faith in the Houston Chronicle -- and that's saying something, since that paper can't get much further to the left without jogging the elbow of Lenin's corpse.

I went and read some of Sowell's archived articles. Love his stuff, wish he was on TV more, but then that would detract from the portrait Liberal media is trying to paint of conservatives.

Yep, I like Sowell. He's articulate but very blunt. Probably comes from being a Marine, (ComPhoto during Korea, if I remember correctly.) My all-time favorite quote from him:

"If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 60 years ago, a liberal 30 years ago, and a racist today."
