An orangutan was allowed to name its own baby at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. It chose "Dumani."

Just to be clear, the orangutan simply made a paintbrush stroke over one of two possible names that the zookeepers had written out on a board. Orangutans are quite clever, but their intelligence still falls within a range somewhere between dogs and the average Katrina refugee--neither of which can read or write, self-evidently.

Perhaps we should give the orangutan a voter registration card.
