A Bad Idea

Remember that late unpleasantness called World War II? Apparently, the prime minister of Japan doesn't. He's pushing for a new constitution and larger military:

"I believe it's entirely possible to create a country brimming with attractiveness and vigor, while maintaining the noble virtues of the Japanese people," he said. "I aim for a country that is trusted, revered and loved by the world and asserts its leadership."

See, it's that last bit that worries us. The last time you folks tried to "assert your leadership," several million Chinese and Philippine civilians were murdered, while we spent the better part of four years putting you back into your box.

I think we'll pass on the New Japan, thanks all the same. We like your constitution just the way we wrote it.
