Zero Tolerance, Zero Common Sense

Meet humanity's newest inductee into the clueless asshat club: Principal Jimmy Meadows of Stonybrook Middle School in Warren Township, Indiana.

Elliot Voge, 14, said he was walking to the school entrance in the brisk weather March 3 and had placed his hands in his coat pocket when he felt the Swiss army pocketknife in the pocket.

"I went straight to the office right inside (the front door)," he said. He said he handed the knife to Teri Donahue, the school's treasurer, and told her he had brought it to school by mistake.

As a result of Elliot's actions, the school's principal, Jimmy Meadows, suspended Elliot for the maximum 10 school days as allowed by law and recommended Elliot be expelled.

Great job, principal Meadows. You corralled that vicious criminal before he caused any harm, didn't you? Bravely done, sir!

A question if I may, Mr. Meadows: Is your tiny little pea-brain even capable of comprehending the lesson you just taught to young Mr. Voge? You just taught him that responsibility doesn't pay. You have planted a neurosis in him that will, for the rest of his life, cause him to hesitate when faced with an ethical choice. That's just brilliant, Mr. Meadows! You're not an educator; you're a bureaucratic shoe-licker. You disgust me.

Please click here to go to the school's home page and send Mr. Meadows a polite letter about the consequences of over-reaction and the responsibilities of an educator.
